David William Dixon

December 13, 1949 — June 22, 2023

December 13th, 1949 – June 22nd, 2023

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of David Dixon – a treasured Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2023 with his family at his side after a courageous battle with Cancer.

David was the loving husband and best friend to LuAnne Dixon for 50 years; father to Brandee (Dave) Burhoe and David (Michelle) Dixon; cherished grandfather to Emmett and Kingsley; and dear brother-in-law to Penny Dietz, Norm (Val) Dietz and Joyce Dietz. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Margaret Dixon; his brother Robert and sister Beverly; his mother and father-in-law Helen and Orman Dietz; his brother-in-law Richard Dietz and Nephew Brent Dietz.

Dave started his career as a Millwright working in Chemical Valley in Sarnia, Ontario for over 50 years. Most of his career he spent working for Shell/Basell as a Coordinator and Shutdown Planner and then moving on to Precision Concepts where he retired in 2019.  Dave will always be remembered as the most loving, caring and supportive family man. So much so that after his retirement he moved his life to Cochrane, Alberta so his whole family could be all together.  He will also be remembered for being kind, a man who could fix anything, a mentor and a genuine person with a heart of gold. He was always willing to reach out and help anyone in need. Friends would say if you looked up the word “gentleman” in the dictionary there would be a picture of Dave.

Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sarnia and District Humane Society.

Until We Meet Again

Those special memories of you

will always bring a smile.

If only I could have you back

for just a little while.

Then we could sit and talk again,

just like we used to do

You always meant so very much

and always will too.

The fact that you’re no longer here

will always cause me pain,

But you’re forever in my heart

until we meet again.
