Diane Moore

Diane Moore passed away on June 28, 2025, in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 90. Diane was born on January 15, 1935, at the old Calgary General Hospital and spent her life contributing to her community, making lasting friendships, and caring for her family.

Diane's professional journey saw her working with prominent organizations including the Bank of Montreal, Esso Resources, and PanCanadian Petroleum. Her dedication and commitment to her work were a testament to her character.

An alumnus of Western Canada High School, Diane carried her sense of pride in her school throughout her life. She remained active in alumni events and gave back with service on the board and committees of the Alumni Association.

Diane had a passion for golf, which she pursued with enthusiasm and dedication into her eighties. She was a member of the Elks Golf Club for many years and later in life played in the Lakeview Golf Course Ladies League.

Diane was an active long-term member and past president of the Desk & Derrick Club of Calgary, where she made meaningful contributions to the group and developed strong friendships among its members. Membership in this international network of oil and gas industry managerial and administrative workers led to many opportunities and experiences in Diane’s life.

Diane was as member of Knox United Church and was involved with its CGIT – Canadian Girls in Training group in her teen years.

Diane's family was important to her and she spent considerable time with genealogical research in later years. She is survived by her sons, James Stewart Moore (Karen) and Kerry Robert Moore Jr., and her grandchild, Julie Moore. Her brother, Robert Connochie (Jane), remains to carry her memories forward.

Diane is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kerry Moore, who passed away in 2006, and her grandchild, Laurie Moore, who left this world in 2010. She also mourned the loss of her brother, James Connochie, and her sister, Jean Freeman (Vaino).

As we remember Diane, we celebrate a life filled with compassion and love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication that will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A ‘celebration of life’ will be held at a later date and an obituary will be placed in the paper announcing the time and location.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Diane’s and her cherished cat Jenny’s memory to the Calgary Humane Society.
