January 31, 1966 – December 2, 2021
Donna Lynn Ferguson-Day of Cochrane entered into eternal rest on December 2, 2021 at the young age of 55 years.
Donna is survived by her husband Eric Joseph Day; son Dylan Ferguson, his wife Jinseo and grandson Rowoon; her mother Carol Finnbogason Suomis; three brothers, Doug Ferguson, Gerry Ferguson-Faberge, Cody LaRouche and one sister Sharon Ferguson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, relatives and friends.
Donna was born in Montreal Quebec and soon found her way into the heart and home of her mother Carol, raised and graduated in Alberta. She bore one son Dylan whom she cared deeply for and raised as a single parent.
She started working for the Alberta Boilers Safety Association as an administrative assistant in 2002 where she was employed till present. Donna loved her job and was very good at it. Her boss was quoted as saying Donna’s smile lights the office up every day. She will be sorely missed by all of her co-workers at ABSA.
Recently Donna became a first time grandmother from her son Dylan and wife Jinseo. Her heart overflowed with love as she welcomed Rowoon Ferguson-Lee into this world on September 8, 2021. We know that this was one of the hardest things Donna had to face – not being there to watch Rowoon grow up, but she counted it such an honour and blessing to be part of his life for the first few short months.
Donna loved to travel, sail, kayak and hike with her beloved husband Eric. She lived a full and very enriched life while here on earth.
It gives her husband great comfort knowing Donna accepted Jesus Christ into her heart as her saviour and king before she passed and she will be waiting there to greet him on the shores of eternity when his life’s journey is done.
