Frederick Henry Reece

We are deeply saddened to announce that Fred Reece passed away on July 11, 2025 in Calgary, with his loving family by his side. Fred was 94 years of age. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, June of 66 years, and their family.

Fred left behind his three children, Glenn (Heather), David (Carmen) and Cathy (Darryl). Fred was loved by 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Jesse, his sister Cathy (Alec) and brothers Albert (Ombra) and Don.

Fred was born in Faulkner, Manitoba, in the Interlake region where he went to school and farmed. He married June in 1958 and moved to various regions of Manitoba where he worked construction. The family moved west in 1966 where he worked at the Morley schools maintaining the buildings until he retired after 25 years. He had many skills and could build, repair or grow anything.

Fred and June enjoyed retirement and loved travel, spending regular happy winters in Hawaii. He and June took many cruises and bus tours around the world.

Fred was always happiest when family gathered for any occasion.

Fred's parting advice was, “Don’t cry for me, I’ve had a good run.”

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm, at St. Andrew's United Church in Cochrane. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: St. Andrew's United Church, 128 - 1 Street East, Cochrane, AB T4C 1Z3
