Patrick Leonard Kinch was born May 10, 1940 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away April 4, 2012 at the Rosefield Care Center, Innisfail, AB. Part was born to Leonard and Mary Kinch and was the eldest of 16 children growing up in the Cochrane and Horse Creek area. Upon completing school he went to Fort Nelson to work. He returned to the Cochrane area to work on the family farm when he met his wife Frances McDonald. They married in February, 1960 and together they raised six children residing in Carstairs, Fox Creek and eventually the Cremona area. Pat took over his father’s gas and oilfield maintenance business in 1976 working mainly at the Carstairs Home Oil Gas Plant. In 2001 he and his wife divorced and he lived out the rest of his life residing in the Cremona, Water Valley area and then with a few of his children over the years until going to the Mountain View Lodge in Olds and eventually the Rosefield Care Center in Innisfail.
Pat was an avid outdoorsman and loved to teach many to hunt and fish over the years. He also definitely loved a great party and was always up to listening to a good joke and telling his own as well! Even in his final days he still loved to hear a great joke!
Pat leaves to mourn his children, Maxine (Rob Blankert), Water Valley, AB, Pat Kinch, Water Valley, AB, Cheryl (Bruce Black), Beaverlodge, AB, Ken Kinch, Olds, AB, Theresa (Bill Argent), Rimbey, AB, Leslie Wolf, Innisfail, AB, 17 grand children and 10 great grand children. He also leaves to mourn 13 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Mary Kinch as well as 2 brothers, Dale and Thomas Kinch. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 10 River Heights Drive, Cochrane on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M.. Interment followed at Water Valley Cemetery, Water Valley.
