December 8, 1950 – November 25, 2011

Judy Newman was born in Calgary December 8, 1950. She grew up in the city but soon started to travel the world. While living on the island of Sumatra with her family she discovered a love for the arts, particularly painting. It was there she started to paint and this would later become her business. Judy was an incredible artist. She had a passion for painting and other things in her life; her family and her dogs. The love of Judy’s life was her German Sheppard Taffy; which the family got while living in Halifax. Some of Judy’s other fur family were Penny, Sammy and Shadow. She also kept Christine’s dogs Oreo, Wrigley, Traveler, and now baby Pixel tight in her heart. I cannot forget to mention Stormy the neighbors Dalmatian here in Cochrane as well. He was also part of her extensive fur family. Judy settled here in Cochrane and this became her favorite place out of all the places in the world she had been. She was a vibrant member of the arts community as well as a volunteer for the RCMP Victim Assistance unit for many years.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Judy’s name may be made directly to the Cochrane Humane Society, 62 Griffin Point, Cochrane, AB., T4C 0A3 To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Judy Newman, please visit our flower store.
