Olga P Taylor

July 13, 1930 — February 19, 2024

Canmore, Alberta

Olga Taylor, formerly from Kitchener-Waterloo passed away in Canmore Alberta where she had resided since 2014.

Olga moved to Canmore to be closer to family, surrounded by the love of her grandchildren Robert and Michael, her oldest son, Robert and her much loved daughter-in-law Veronica. She is also survived by her youngest son John and her grandchildren Martha, Wesley and Harry, from Montreal.

Olga was born in Tucuman, Argentina and after completing an English degree in Cordoba Argentina went to England to learn “the Queens English”. In England she discovered nursing and studied in London to receive her nursing degree. From England she came to Canada with the intention of working her way back to Argentina. Plans changed when she met her future husband Robert Wesley Taylor of the Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg. She returned to Argentina and he was transferred to Baden-Baden Germany and they maintained a long distance relationship. This changed when he asked her to marry and once again she crossed the Atlantic by ocean liner. Married in France, they lived in Germany for five years, returning to Canada pregnant with their first child, born in 1965 followed by John, born in 1966, and then living in North Bay Ontario. They moved to Waterloo in 1975.

Olga was predeceased by her sister Nena in 1977, her husband Bob (Wesley) in 1979 as well as her remaining sister Blanquita in 2019, and many others over the years. Olga was the last of her generation.

Olga loved to travel and was very fortunate to have visited many, many places in this world the last being a trip to Kenya in 2013.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Eagle View Lodge in Canmore for the incredible care and support received. We are forever grateful.

Cremation has taken place and no formal service is planned as per her wishes.

Please remember Olga in any way that you know she would appreciate.

We all will miss you.
