July 7, 1965 – April 10, 2023

With great sadness we announce the passing of Mark Stormoen on Monday April 10th, 2023 in Calgary Alberta at the age of 57.

Mark was born in Stettler, Alberta on July 7th, 1965, to his parents Gerald Gustav Stormoen and Marilyn Arlene Price. Mark grew up in Carstairs, Alberta. He graduated from Huge Southerland High, traveled and lived in various places before settling down with his family in Water Valley, Alberta. Mark is survived by Riley, Samuel, Toni Lynn and her sister Sherri, and brother Kent with his wife Theresa.

Mark was a dedicated, hard-working and charismatic individual who had an uncanny ability to connect with people in a deep positive way. Mark was a career entrepreneur who demonstrated success in agriculture and the oil and gas industry. His true passion was ranching with his family, golfing with friends, spending time in Mexico and of course his dogs.

Growing up farming with his family and brother, after high school he soon began his career in the oil and gas industry. This provided Mark with the opportunity to work in places such as Morocco, The Artic, United States, and many areas of Canada. In 1992, Mark met his beloved wife, Toni. Not long after, they started their family and began planning their life. Riley was born in 1993, and Samuel in 1995. His hard work and dedication allowed him to achieve a lifelong goal of buying his own ranch. In 1997 he married Toni at their new ranch in Water Valley.

Mark will be dearly missed by all family and friends, we were so blessed to have you in our lives.

The memorial will be held on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, at the Cochrane RancheHouse (

101 Ranchehouse Rd, Cochrane, AB

) from 2:00-6:00PM

We love you Mark
