We say goodbye to our beloved father who passed away peacefully in his sleep. He had 63 wonderful years with the love of his life, Lily until she predeceased him in 2011. Together they raised 6 children on the farm in High River, later moving to the ranch west of Water Valley where Don ranched for over 40 years. He loved company, whether it was family or friends. Don always enjoyed a good laugh, and was a true stubborn Norwegian. Like all his sons, the more intense the debate, the more carpet he wore out. He was active in Cochrane Lakes Gas Co-Op, the Lutheran Church, I.D. of Bighorn and a founding councillor in the M.D. of Bighorn. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 205 – 11 Street N.E., Sundre, Alberta, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2013 at 1:00 pm. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Don’s memory may be made directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, 100, 119 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6, or www.heartandstroke.ab.ca .
