John passed away peacefully while at Rockyview Hospital on January 2, 2014. John was born May 10, 1920 in Warrington, England and moved to Canada shortly after serving with the British war effort during WWII. Settling in Calgary, he retired from the University of Calgary at the end of his working life. Always active, he especially loved walks along the Bow River and Bownes Park.
John is survived by his ex-wife Brenda, son Stephen, and daughter Wendy Watson, grandchildren; Anissa and Adrian, and great grandchildren; Jade, Honor, Moise, Emery, and Parker.
A small family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
